Weekend Worship at Cooper Chapel

Photobucket

O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.

Photobucket

You know when I sit and when I stand;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.

Photobucket

You discern my going out and my lying down;
       you are familiar with all my ways.

Photobucket

      Before a word is on my tongue
       you know it completely, O LORD.

Photobucket

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
       too lofty for me to attain.

Photobucket

     Where can I go from your Spirit?
       Where can I flee from your presence?

Photobucket

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
       if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

Photobucket

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

Photobucket

   even there your hand will guide me,
 your right hand will hold me fast.

Photobucket

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
 and the light become night around me,"

Photobucket

 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
       the night will shine like the day,
       for darkness is as light to you.

Photobucket

  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
       your works are wonderful,
       I know that full well.

Photobucket

 My frame was not hidden from you
       when I was made in the secret place.
       When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

Photobucket

       your eyes saw my unformed body.
       All the days ordained for me
       were written in your book
       before one of them came to be.

Photobucket

 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
       How vast is the sum of them!

 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
       test me and know my anxious thoughts.

 See if there is any offensive way in me,
   and lead me in the way everlasting.
From Psalm 139

  1. This is an amazingly beautiful church,
    Dianne. I don't know that I've seen
    another quite like it. You have a gift
    for finding these houses of worship
    and capturing the essence of the
    beauty that worship is meant to be.
    Again, I'm so glad you were able to
    visit your dear friend and had such a
    good time.
    Love you,
    Sandy

  5. You captured the serenity and beauty of it!
    "All the days ordained for me were written in Your Book" isn't that beyond comprehension! He knew you would seize the wonder of this beautiful place last week, before you ever considered it.
    You my friend are special and look forwarded to meeting one day here on this earth or one day with Our Saviour & Lord.

  13. This chapel is stunning. Your photos and Scriptures always are so inspiring.

    I thought this chapel looked familiar. As a teeneager I visited Thorncrown Chapel near Eureka Springs, AR - the same architect designed both structures. Her designs are breathtaking.

  28. Dianne, Psalm 139 was the chapter that my mom had me read daily to her as she was getting closer to heaven. It was then read at her home going celebration.
