look what i found

Photobucket

I have really struggled with this Blogger thing called Followers. I have had the gadget up, down, down, up but have chosen to leave it up for the past few months. The struggle?--oh, I don't know really--I just wanted people to be able to come over and read if and when they felt like it--didn't want anyone obligated to leave comments ever and I hope I have some readers who do just that. The other thing that bothered me was the name--Followers--I didn't want anyone to follow me. I read one blog writer who jokingly (but seriously) begged followers NOT to follow her.

But, anyway, look what I found--the most wonderful group of friends in the whole wide world. I wouldn't trade any one of you for anything. I feel like I know most of you personally and some of you have become lifelong friends. I think when we lay our inner thoughts, emotions, beliefs, desires, and failures out in front of each other daily, we really do get to know one another.

So, sweet, sweet friends please have a blessed day. I love you so. You are a treasure to me. Look what I found!!

He longs for us to have treasures that moth and rust will not destroy, that cannot be stolen. He longs to be our treasure.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. From Matthew

  1. Beautifully put as always! I'm very happy to 'follow' along. I'm so glad I found your blog and have been enjoying the fellowship here too!

  2. I understand how you feel. I
don't care for the silly term
    "followers" either. I do like
the fact that I have met some
of the dearest people here on
    the web though, including you.
I just want my blog to be a
place where anyone can come and
    find encouragement and friendship.
I want to glorify God and reflect
His love. That's what you do,
    dear sister. :-)
    Love you,
    Sandy

  3. I'm glad you have a follow button, but even if you didn't I'd still follow! There are a few blogs that I follow simply by adding their link to my blog because they don't have a place to add followers. There are some who don't allow comments, but I think it's important to allow the reader to do that if they wish. I find it frustrating when I can't share my thoughts about a post or tell the blogger how I appreciate their posts. I think the follow button and the comment button are a service to the reader, not just the blogger. I believe the comment aility has been the primary tool for making some very dear friends. I read a lot of blogs and I'm thankful for both. ~ Anyway. . . have a terrific weekend friend!

  4. Wow, could I just copy your whole post onto my blog? I had been blogging for quite awhile before I even saw that I had followers...I didn't have it show on my blog and didn't ever go to the "dashboard" to see them. I was so surprised to see the people listed there and i wondered what exactly it meant. Being a former teacher, I'm sort of organized...I have a folder in my "favorites" that list all of the blogs I read...I just go down the list and check for new posts...I never followed anyone officially. But, I was touched by those who supported me by following, so I will do the same. I will now follow you too! I so wish we all could have dinner together in real life, I have found the blogging community such a pleasure! I often read your post and others as my morning devotional...I feel like I have found a treasure too! Have a great weekend!

  6. Dear Dianne,

You are a sweet, loveable person. I see you like a spiritual mother now. Thanks so much for the good encouragement. I feel much better today by reading your post. You are one of the first to follow my blog, and I thank you. I think the word should be changed to readers or friends.

  7. Oh Diane ~ I so can relate to this as I know your heart is probably the same as mine...the only ONE to follow is Jesus. But like you I have grown to love and adore each friend the Lord has led to my blog and allowed me to know....You are one I praise HIM for!

You asked about how I removed the number of followers on my blog and I wish I could tell you what I did but honestly I have NO IDEA what in the world I clicked that day LOL IF by chance the Lord allows me to figure it out you will be the FIRST to know!!

    Love you!
