on empty?

Photobucket

I don't know if it is the heat or what but I am in severe writer's block. My brain feels empty, my house is empty except for me today, the chair above is empty because you my dear friend are not here to share it with me (ssshhhhhh! even though it is really not my chair--I took this picture at a friend's house the other day) but you get my drift about emptiness.

What is so satisfying and filling about the Christian life is this: No matter how empty everything around us may seem, Jesus can and longs to fill us with His fullness. So today I choose to celebrate life with the fullness of Him in my heart, in my mind, in my relationships.

18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,

20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,

21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

23which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

At any rate, if you are feeling empty, just wanted you to know that I am here. I love you and always have you on my mind. If you need to talk, just email me.

  1. You are wise indeed to acknowledge the emptiness and run INTO it instead of trying to chase it away as we often do with artificial business.

I believe that emptiness is a hole God created that only He can fill, and He does so long to fill us again and again and again so that we can leak out on those around us.

Enjoy Him, for He delights in you.

  2. I would love to come and visit
with you and sit in a little
chair like that, have a heart-
    to-heart talk about our Jesus.
Even when you say you are
    feeling empty or have writer's
    block, you still manage to
write some of the best words
    of encouragement out here in
blog land. I love you, Dianne.

  5. So agree with HisFireFly! Was just reading a devotion by Beth Moore today on this very issue. God leaves empty spaces in our hearts that only He was meant to fill. To embrace and "run into" that empties is wisdom. For then He delights in filling us up to overflowing.
