update on jeff

NEW UPDATE: Jeff's blood sugar continues to be around 350 so they have not released him yet--don't know if he will go home today or not.

And speaking of precious sons, if you have never read MCKMAMA, please pray for her son who is 1 year old today. He is in the hospital--very gravely ill. You can click on Mckmama above to read their story.

Just wanted to give you a quick update on our son, Jeff.

They went in to do the stents yesterday. They could not complete the first and worst one they were after. There was 100% blockage and the heart muscle at that point had died. Thank God, it was a very small portion of the heart and they don't think it will affect the overall performance of the heart. They were able to place stents in the next two and they are working properly. Jeff is feeling much better today and is headed home.

He does have diabetes which highly complicates all of this. His blood sugar was still 300 yesterday. He is on insulin shots and pills. They hope someday that he will be able to go off of the insulin shots. His triglycerides when he went in on Monday night were over 2,000. Yes, 2,000--that is not a typo. Hard to believe. They said some of that was triggered by the diabetes being so out of control.

Please help us pray that Jeff will have the discipline to get all of this under control. In a fast-paced life with fast foods all around, it can be a challenge. I, myself, greatly need to improve my overall eating habits and exercise regimen (Yea, like start one).

Please pray for all of us. Thank you for caring.

  1. Hi Dianne!
So glad to hear that your son is being cared for ... He is so fortunate to have had "a warning." My mother was not as fortunate...
She was so very young (only 53) and we have missed her for so many years, decades really~
I'm on Crestor to control my cholesterol. I've tried for a long time to keep it under control... have done everything right... but it's crept up over the years and my doctor thought that with my family history, it's best that I not "wait and see if this or that works" anymore...
The Crestor brought my overall number from 235 to 156. My ratios were always pretty good, but now they're even better... so
there's a little yellow pill that the alarm on my cellphone reminds me to take every night at 10.

Dianne... I am so glad your son is alive and in good care. God be with you, try to find some quiet time... I hope your sleep is restful~
    All the best,
    Maria
