arkansas' teeny tiny byways

Well, I told you that my hubby loves little byways. So this is where we ended up after we drove a mile or so down a scrubby little dirt road off a back highway. I don't know if I should apologize or not for changing these photos to the watercolor feature in my photo-editing program. I just love the change it makes in them. Maybe some day next week I will show the actual photo, then show the watercolor image and see if you agree.

Tomorrow I will show you the culmination of this country drive. It is quite special. I had passed it several years ago and didn't have my camera with me--finally some pictures of this beautiful place.

We're expecting a rainy Saturday (don't mind since I'll be in my slippers for a while :) and a nicer Sunday.

Catherine Marshall was a mentor for me when I was a young mother raising three sons and didn't get out of the house much. How I love all of her writings. She is so real.

One of my all-time favorite poems. I had to memorize it in high school and I've loved it ever since.
