PhotobucketHey there! Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere where a little of everything has been thrown in.

About me--I am married to a wonderful man, have three grown sons with great wives and families--seven grandchildren in all.

I was a stay-at-home mom for many years and taught school for 22 years. Right now I am retired from teaching and am a calligrapher and artist. I paint acrylics on large canvases with some type of wording--I love to place scripture or really meaningful quotes or sayings on canvas. You can see some of my art at http://www.diansartstudio.blogspot.com/.

I also love to read, write and take photographs. My morning cup of coffee is one of the small pleasures that I enjoy the most.

But on a more intimate note, I sometimes can't believe how God has blessed me. At times I feel like the most blessed woman in the world. (I am speaking about relationships and experiences here, not materialistic things.) Oh, yes, you can be sure I have been through the fire at times in my life--many tests, trials, temptations and failures---but if we let them, I truly believe they can be a refining fire that makes us purer, cleaner and more usable for our Master's service.

As hard as some of them have been, I pray they have not been wasted. Paul Bilheimer wrote a book entitled, DON'T WASTE YOUR SORROWS. In other words, don't let them make you bitter or resentful and don't let the scarring keep your heart from feeling the joys of today--but let them be used to bring us into an ever closer and developing relationship with God.

My reasons for this blog are varied: I want our children and grandchildren to have a journal of our lives; I love to share old and new ideas about photography, blogging, decorating, and teaching; but mainly it is to bring glory to God and make His name known through Jesus Christ.

To have a world-wide platform at our fingertips is almost incomprehensible to me and I do not take it lightly that I have the chance to witness to people around the world--hungry people searching for meaning in this life--It is to this end that I am dedicated--To bring glory to God--to help you see beauty and meaning in each day through Him.

A little poetry or prose, some smiles through tears, hopefully some laughter along the way, a piece of my art work or my former students' writings, an inspiring photograph, references or stories about those I love most--you will find a little bit of everything thrown in here. It is my hope that your stay here is relaxing and enjoyable. Welcome! I love making new friends.
